More Powerful than Encryption Alone
Get the Stimulus Incentive While Meeting HITECH Requirements

With the American Recovery and Reinvestment act of 2009, Healthcare providers can take advantage of the $51 billion that has been allocated to the health care industry to adopt and implement Electronic Health Records (EHRs), also known as Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). Actually, over the past years, many patient records have been digitized to improve patient care but also to lower administrative costs. Simultaneously, more and more medical and administrative processes that create and use EHRS are being outsourced to third parties for cost efficiencies. The concept of these outsourced and third parties can be considered Business Associates, which requires additional security requirements under the new HIPAA and HITECH acts effective February 17, 2010.

With both the incentive for implementing EMR and the extra requirements for patient data protection, we believe it is necessary for health care providers and payers to consider a security solution that will ensure data is always under the "owner" control even when shared with other users in the process because most other users are their Business Associates.

Fortressware's propagation management technology is a solution that address’ the data leaking problem whenever and wherever the data is used, without changing already established process. It is application and data format agnostic, and the propagation policy is always with the data as it traverses with the processes.
