Donald W. Simborg, MD

Donald W. Simborg, MD was the co-founder of HL7 and founding member of AMIA’s College of Medical Informatics. He founded and is the former CEO of two EHR companies and the author of over 100 articles and book chapters on a wide range of medical informatics topics. He has served as a member of the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board of the National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences. In 2007 he chaired the expert panel on anti-fraud requirements for EHRs for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. He has served on the boards of the Foundation on Research and Education, American Health Information Management Association and HL7. He currently consults with venture capitalists, start-up healthcare IT companies, and provider organizations regarding healthcare IT. He received his MD degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Anne Perlman

Anne Perlman is an independent management, marketing and business development consultant. In 2001-2002, she was CEO and president of MessageOne in Austin, TX. From 1997-2001, she was the first CEO of Moai Technologies. At Tandem Computers (now HP), Anne held positions including Vice President and General Manager of Multimedia, Vice President of Marketing, and President and General Manager of Tandem Source Company. She has a BA in Mathematics and BA in Economics from UC Santa Cruz and an MBA from UCLA.

Sanjay Vaswani

Sanjay Vaswani holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a BBA summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin. He has worked for Intel Corporation and as an associate in McKinsey & Company, Inc. in Los Angeles. In 1990, he set up his own consulting firm, which is a consultant and advisor to hi-tech companies in the USA.

John Mashey

John Mashey is a consultant for venture capitalists and technology companies. He is "an ancient UNIX person," beginning at Bell Labs in 1973. He moved to Silicon Valley in 1983 to join Convergent Technologies, ending his tenure there as director of software. Mashey joined MIPS Computer Systems in early 1985, managing operating systems development, and helping design the MIPS RISC architecture, as well as specific CPUs, systems and software. He continued in this vein after the MIPS acquisition by SGI (1992 – 2000) as VP and chief scientist. He later became a managing partner with Sensei Partners LLC, an early venture firm. Mash was one of the founders of the SPEC benchmarking group, was an ACM National Lecturer for four years, and has been guest editor for IEEE Micro. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Pennsylvania State University.
